Waste is one of the biggest issues facing Australian communities, but there’s a lot people can do at home to help. We turned Hornsby Shire Council’s fleet of garbage disposal trucks into mobile billboards.
Time to take out the trash
The medium is the message
Covering more than 30 suburbs and townships across the whole council, these trucks would spread the message five days a week, every week of the year — without spending a cent on typically OOH placements in the area.
Waste deep
Designed to be applied over a 1-2 year period, Hornsby Shire Council needed a suite of single-minded messages to target local waste management issues when needed. So we created 15 bespoke executions, each clearly and colourfully promoting the ideal resident action for each waste stream — from soft plastic to food waste to unwanted textiles.
